Silence the Blood

INFORMATION
Maarten van der Put has been building his Nude Study Menu since 2009 - A series of stand-alone performances, which together form a collection of intimate documents, focus on the pure expressiveness of the body, the truthfulness of the performer. In it he searched for a new form of expression. No theatrical setting, no chronology, but a menu of performances, each focused on going back to the essence, the human body in all its nakedness.

The performances are about beauty. Not as an equivalent of "beautiful", but as the sum of physicality and vulnerability. In it, Van der Put questions theatrical tricks within United Cowboys, peels them off and concludes that even a dominant environment beats the pure power of the body. The series is in line with the centuries-long inspiration that the female body is for the artist - an inspiration that also includes endless passion and compassion for van der Put. Yet nudity is not a theatrical subject.
